A Graduation Session Filled With Family, Memories & a Special College Connection

Graduation sessions are always such a special reminder of just how quickly our little ones grow up. One minute you’re holding their tiny hands, and the next, you’re celebrating one of the biggest milestones of their lives—and getting ready to send them off to college!

This beautiful family reached out to me for a combination of graduation and family photos to celebrate their high school graduate, and I couldn’t have asked for a sweeter family to spend an evening with.

We made sure to capture a little bit of everything—photos of their graduate on her own, the whole family together, and all of those sweet moments that show just how much love and support surrounds her as she heads into this next chapter.

But one of my favorite parts of their session was a little family connection that made these photos extra special.

She will be attending the same college her grandfather attended!

Of course, we had to make sure we captured a special photo of the two of them together in their college gear. There was something so meaningful about seeing them standing side by side, sharing a connection that now spans generations. She’s beginning her own college journey while following a path that her grandfather once walked, too.

Those are the moments I love most about family photography. Yes, we get the beautiful smiling portraits, the graduation photos, and the photos everyone needs to frame—but sometimes the most meaningful images are the ones that tell a story.

This session wasn't just about graduating high school. It was about celebrating where she is now, the people who helped her get here, and the exciting journey that lies ahead.
